Prior to joining PIMCO, he served as Managing Director, Co-Head of the Tax-Exempt Department for Western Asset Management Company. Previously he was Managing Director, Head of Tax-Exempt Investments for Smith Barney/Citigroup Asset Management from 1993 to 2005. Earlier in his career, he held senior portfolio management positions with Shearson and E.F. Hutton. Morningstar named him Fixed-Income Manager of the Year in 1996 and a finalist in 1995 and 2007. He holds a bachelor's degree from Iona College.

Walls & Co. and Mabon Nugent. Mr. Cummings earned a B.A. from Rutgers College in 1983 and a M.B.A. from Rutgers University in 1990.
